Take five with Matthew

Tell us a little bit about your job?

I’m the Digital Marketing Manager at ICG and the role is really varied which I absolutely love. We support a range of clients with social media, Google ads, paid social, SEO and website development.

My focus is mostly on SEO and PPC, along with supporting the digital team and marketing team. Everyone at ICG is so knowledgeable, and I’ve learned loads since I started.

If you weren’t a Digital Marketing Manager, what would you be doing?

I would love to be a Formula One driver, literally addicted!  In reality, if I wasn’t working in marketing I would probably be working in a gym or in sport of some kind, maybe a personal trainer or strength and conditioning coach.

What’s on your desk right now?

A fresh coffee (I opted for Startbucks this morning but wish I’d gone for Costa), my ICG notepad, a pair of headphones and a bottle of water.

“I never let a day go by without…”

Exercise and gratitude.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

If you want to know what your future looks like, look at the choices you are making right now.  I don’t know who said it or where it comes from, but I like it.

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I once got both my arms stuck in the cinema cup holders.  I was about 11-years-old and bored in the cinema with my family when I decided to see how far I could get my left arm into the cinema cup holder.  It got stuck, so I thought I would see if I could get my right arm further than my left.

They both got stuck and it took us a good five minutes to release my arms.  We thought the staff would have to get involved.  Very embarrassing.

Name five things you can’t live without?

My family and friends, good coffee, green tea, Formula One and the mighty Arsenal FC.

Finally, we’re about to put the kettle on, how would you like your brew?

If it’s not a Jules coffee special, I’ll have a green tea please!
